The Club’s Connections group puts a spotlight on women’s achievements around the globe with a luncheon that features a trio of inspiring female speakers.
The keynote speaker for the event will be Karen Makishima, a member of the Liberal Democratic Party who represents a district in Kanagawa Prefecture. She will be joined by Mai Demizu, an announcer with TBS Television, and Yoshiko Koike, CEO of Kitano Hotel Tokyo.
Meanwhile, a rousing musical performance will be put on by the dynamic, all-female taiko drumming troupe, Suzune.
Many other prominent guests from the fields of business and government will take part in this luncheon that celebrates a global day that was inaugurated more than a hundred years ago. And 10 percent of the price for the event will be donated to one of Connections’ charities.
