A holder of third-degree black belts in iaido and karate and a first-degree black belt in aikido, Kumashiro has been studying martial arts for more than 25 years.
During the workshop, participants will be able to see Kumashiro demonstrate sword swings and cutting techniques and don traditional garb. After some instruction in holding and using a Japanese sword, students can unleash their inner warrior as they slice through cardboard targets.
