International Lifeguarding Course
Earn an internationally recognized lifeguarding qualification at the Club.
Through this three-day training program, equip yourself with the necessary safety, rescue and first-aid skills to handle a range of emergencies and situations at a pool or equivalent shallow-water environment.
After completing around seven hours of online learning, students attend three days of instructor-led sessions, designed by the US-based aquatic organization Ellis & Associates.
The hybrid course, taught by Sky Pool manager Haldane Henry, concludes with a written exam on the final day.
Successful participants will receive a certificate valid for one year.
Course Topics
- CPR and emergency oxygen administration
- Standard first aid
- Water-rescue techniques
- Blood-borne and airborne pathogen spread prevention
- Shallow-water lifeguarding proficiency
Course Prerequisite Tests
- Swim 50 meters (front crawl, breaststroke or combination of both) without stopping.
- Retrieve a 4.5-kilogram brick from the bottom of the pool and swimming underwater with it over 3 meters.
