Introduction to Capoeira

Blend martial arts, dance, song and acrobatics through this lively Brazilian style of self-defense.

Students in this fun, energetic class receive an introduction to the fundamentals of capoeira, which was developed around five centuries ago in Brazil, and added to UNESCO’s intangible cultural heritage list in 2014.

A devoted practitioner of capoeira for the last 18 years, Jun Ishibashi is an instructor and level-two professor at Capoeira Batuque Japão, an LA-headquartered capoeira group. Known for his dynamic, fluid movements, Jun has appeared in music videos and TV commercials.
