Junior Yoga

Budding yogis learn basic yoga moves and mindfulness techniques in a fun setting.


What will I learn in this class?
Adults around the world are enjoying the benefits of yoga, so why not kids? In this new class, ages 7 to 14 explore the world of yoga while learning a variety of basic poses and the fundamentals of meditation and mindfulness.

What are the benefits of this class?
Children and teenagers will enjoy the challenge of mastering poses while improving their flexibility and range of motion. They will also find improved overall wellness in a practice that calms the mind and nurtures the body. This is a great introduction to a discipline that kids can pursue into adulthood and the perfect way to wrap up the week.

Who will teach this class?
Luiz Olimpio (pictured) has been practicing yoga since 1999. He has trained in India with the nonprofit Yoga Alliance and holds regular meditation retreats in the Kanto area. The Brazilian, who has taught yoga at various Tokyo international schools since 2021, is also a Harvard Medical School-certified mindfulness-based cognitive therapy teacher. Luiz holds certifications in Personal Training, Glute Specialization, and Bodybuilding, which officially qualify him to guide students in an immersive learning environment.
