Sogetsu Ikebana (Series)

Established in 1927, the Sogetsu school of ikebana flower arrangement features both standard and freeform styles.

Learn about the principles of flower arrangement in the Sogetsu school, a methodology that encourages expression and artistry over defined procedures.

Students unable to attend a scheduled session can arrange a make-up lesson with the instructor. Students create their own arrangements they can display at home while learning skills to help them continue this introspective hobby outside of the Club.

Students can arrive at any time during each two-hour class to complete their arrangements, which takes approximately 30 minutes.

Instructor
Kumiko Fujimura is a certified Sogetsu instructor and has been practicing ikebana since her college years when she began assisting classes at the Club.
