What will the students learn in this class?
This STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math)-based program encourages critical thinking and problem-solving while honing children’s ability to turn ideas into products.
Aimed at ages 3 to 12 with an interest in creating, building and tinkering, this class offers budding engineers and designers opportunities to learn, solve and produce through a range of projects, including coding simple commands on a computer or tablet, developing robotic prototypes and changing numeric variables to manipulate systems.

This class is taught by experienced instructors from SchoolTribe, a Tokyo-based provider of extracurricular learning programs.
Arooj Zaidi holds a degree in product and industrial design and is completing her postgraduate degree on the influence of objects on children's mathematical, physical and cognitive development at Keio University’s Graduate School of Media Design in Tokyo.
Maike Erdmann (pictured) holds a degree in computer science from Germany’s University of Oldenburg and a doctorate in information science and technology from Osaka University. A mother of four, she previously worked in consulting and R&D. Erdmann is fluent in Japanese.
