Distance Swim Development

A specialized program for aspiring triathletes and open-water distance enthusiasts.

What will I learn in this class?
Aimed at both intermediate- and advanced-level swimmers, this program is designed to elevate participants’ freestyle technique while enhancing their endurance and overall fitness. These sessions are ideal for those looking to compete in a long-distance swim event for the first time or improve their triathlon time. Members are encouraged to bring fins, paddles and a snorkel to each session.

What are the benefits of this class?
Swimmers learn how to refine their freestyle form to ensure maximum efficiency when moving through the water. The training also develops participants’ physical stamina and their mental fortitude. Both are crucial capacities when taking on the challenge of—sometimes grueling—long-distance swims.

Who will teach this class?
Bruno Ortiz-Cañavate represented Spain at the 2016 Rio Olympics and won the 2013 NCAA Division I title with the University of Michigan, an athletic powerhouse among colleges in the United States.
