Introducing a Member

Members who introduce a friend, colleague or acquaintance who joins the Club can earn cash towards that next event or dinner.

Visiting Family

Members' relatives visiting from overseas can join the Club for up to three months under the sponsorship of a current Member for a monthly fee of ¥6,000 per family member. Members should register each family member online before they arrive.

Adult Family Membership

Members can register adult dependents, including children, retired parents or parents-in-law or other family member aged 21 or above, on their membership as Adult Family Members.

Each membership request must be approved by the Board of Governors and is subject to annual renewal and approval.

Life Membership

For Regular Members who will no longer be living in Japan, converting to Life membership allows short-term visits to the Club for up to 60 days per year while still enjoying full reciprocal Club privileges.

Leaving

Members departing Tokyo or seeking to resign from the Club for other reasons can request a resignation form from the Membership Office.

Those planning to return to Japan or the Club in the future may wish to inquire about Life membership. Following a 2009 amendment to the General Rules, the twice-annual assessments will be prorated for resigning Members.

Departing Members can also make use of the Guest Studios at favorable rates.

The membership belongs to the individual, who has reciprocal club and voting privileges (so long as the Member registers to vote).

Entrance fee: ¥1.9 million/¥4.5 million
Application fee: ¥33,000
Building maintenance fund contribution: ¥300,000
Refundable deposit: ¥200,000
Monthly fees: Single: ¥27,500 + ¥3,000 (building maintenance assessment); Couple: ¥36,000 + ¥3,000 (building maintenance assessment); Family: ¥44,000 + ¥3,000 (building maintenance assessment)

Allows for three-month overlap when transferring to succeeding applicant.

The membership belongs to the company. The incumbent has reciprocal club and voting privileges (so long as the Member registers to vote).
The company has the option to sponsor other Members for short periods, whenever a membership is vacant.
Membership includes access to Tokyo American Club Nihonbashi (adults only).

Duration of membership is limited to three years (extendable in six-month increments for a fee).
Conversion to other categories is possible.
There are three membership designations: Single, Couple and Family. The Family designation includes all children under 21 years old.
The membership belongs to the individual. The incumbent has reciprocal club and voting privileges (so long as the Member registers to vote).
Membership includes access to Tokyo American Club Nihonbashi (adults only).

For sons and daughters of Members, between the ages of 21 and 29.
Duration of membership is until the person reaches the age of 30.

The Junior membership non-refundable entrance fee will be deducted from any entrance fee due upon conversion to another membership type.

A Senior/Emeritus Member may transfer Regular membership to a son, daughter or grandchild.
When the child or grandchild’s application is approved, the Senior/Emeritus Member must resign.
The Senior/Emeritus Member can become an Adult Family Member of the son, daughter or grandchild, without having to reside with that person.

Under the sponsorship of a present Member, visitors to Tokyo from overseas can take advantage of the Club’s countless amenities and services. One-week visitor cards are available for a maximum of 13 weeks within one calendar year.

Tokyo American Club Nihonbashi is the Club's first-ever satellite facility. Located on the sixth floor of Nihonbashi Muromachi Mitsui Tower, the Club features a restaurant, bar, fitness center and lounge. The adults-only facility is open on weekdays.
