No Independence Day celebration is complete without a spread of festive flavors, and this year’s Club offerings come straight from New York City.
Michael Anthony, executive chef of the iconic, Michelin star-studded Gramercy Tavern, is bringing some of his favorite creations—inspired by childhood memories of July Fourth—to the Club.
Available at American Bar & Grill and Traders’ Bar on weekdays from July 1 to 12 and at the Independence Day After-party on July 6, Chef Anthony’s refined culinary style built on home cooking techniques is sure to delight.
“I really like to employ the way home cooks put together simple dishes that are fresh and lovely,” Anthony explains. “It builds into that line of hospitality and warmth and, you know, an all-American approachability.”
Named best chef by Food & Wine magazine, Time Out New York and the James Beard Foundation, and now leading the transformation of dining outlets at the historic Waldorf Astoria, Anthony got his start right here in Tokyo, at a small bistro not far from the Club.
And he’s delighted to be back, bringing his own take on classics like lobster sandwiches, smash burgers and American cherry panna cotta.
As Chef Anthony says in our in-depth interview in July’s INTOUCH: “It’s the Fourth of July, y’all. Let’s eat something we love.”
