Aikido for Kids (Winter-Spring)

There are no tournaments in aikido so students do not rely on defeating others in order to improve.

What age can my child start from?
Children from 3 to 5 years old can join our kindergarten classes, which will begin in January of 2019. Children from 5 years old are welcome to join our Beginners, Intermediate, or Advanced classes according to age and level.

What will my child learn in these classes?
Our children’s classes are designed for students to reach their full potential by doing enjoyable basic Aikido movements. A systemized approach to physical development through a series of fun yet focused body movement drills and games will enable your child to progress into Aikido techniques. The structured, enjoyable activities will help your child learn how to move naturally and develop strength, balance and coordination.

What are the benefits of these classes?
Pacific Aikido’s classes are the perfect place for children because of the balance of discipline and fun. We focus your child’s energy in a positive, productive manner while maintaining courteous, respectful behavior in class at all times. As Aikido does not have any tournaments, children learn how to work with others and how to be a productive member of a group while at the same time focusing on their own personal development.

Who will teach these classes?
Classes are taught by Pacific Aikido instructors who have been teaching Aikido to children and adults since 1991 and at TAC since 1999. The TAC Aikido Club is a registered dojo of the Aikikai Foundation-Aikido World Headquarters under the Pacific Aikido group.
