Trail-Running Clinic

Ultrarunner Tomokazu Ihara hosts a day of trail-running tips on the wooded slopes of Mount Takao on the western outskirts of Tokyo.

Following his inspirational TAC Talk on December 16, the 43-year-old running coach will share advice on training, trail-running spots and enjoying Japan’s great outdoors.

Ihara will also share his own journey to fitness and how he approaches training for his goal of completing 100 100-mile (160-kilometer) races. He has finished 56 so far.

The sole ultradistance event he has failed to complete is the grueling Barkley Marathons in Tennessee, but then only 15 people have ever managed that.

Whether you’re a keen road runner or you would like to find a new way to stay in shape, join Ihara for a rewarding day in the woods.

“At my event in Takao,” he says, “you will experience beautiful nature that could open up another door to your future.”

Participants will also be able to use Salomon trail-running shoes from Mt Takao Base Camp for the day for free and will receive a free Salomon shoe bag.
