Japanese Gift Wrapping: New Year’s

Learn the fundamentals of Japanese gift wrapping with a twist.

What will I learn in this class?
Every New Year’s Day, Japanese families give out otoshidama gifts to their children. In this class, students learn how to craft their own otoshidama envelopes which can also add a great touch for your next wedding or special occasion with the addition of a traditional mizuhiki knot.

Who teaches this class?
Hiroe Miyaoka is a professional package designer, published author and corporate consultant. A graduate of Tokyo’s Vantan Design Institute, Miyaoka has been teaching Japanese gift wrapping techniques for 15 years.
