Matcha Ink Calligraphy

Craft a quintessential Japanese artwork using an unmistakeable hue of green matcha ink.

What will I learn in this class?
Any calligraphy aficionado will love this unique class that employs the calming aesthetic of Japanese calligraphy with the vibrant tones of matcha ink. Students learn to write katakana and kanji characters that embody their mind, body and soul to create a kakejiki hanging scroll to display at home. Rental calligraphy sets (¥500) are available.

Who teaches this class?
A master calligrapher and graphologist, as well as a master writer of certificates, diplomas and awards, Shoran Fukuhara began teaching calligraphy in the United States in 2012. Fukuhara is a member of Shizuoka Suibokuga Association and holds a business degree from the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh.
