Summer Swim Team Level 4 Squad

Students improve kick work and strengthen good swimming habits through drills and fun activities. Longer practices and distances build up swimmers’ stamina and endurance.

What will I learn in this class?

The Competitive Swimming Program is designed to improve technique and fitness through more intense training regimes. Participants refine skills and develop sportsmanship and team spirit. Besides improving speed, strength, conditioning and mental preparation for races, swimmers also learn goal-setting skills and determination in a positive, fun environment.

What are the benefits of this class?
Our swimmers place well in local international swim meets and a number of representatives and age group champions compete at overseas all-Asia invitational meets. This team is also a member of the Japanese Amateur Swimming Association and several of our swimmers compete and make the finals at this highly competitive level.

Who will teach this class?
Simon Hadlow―Head coach: An Australian level-one swim coach, Simon has taught children and adults of all levels for almost two decades. With more than 15 years’ swimming experience under Australian junior team coach Lester Watkins, Simon has competed at Australian state and national levels. He also tried out for Australia’s Commonwealth Games and World Championships teams as an open swimmer.

  • Registration cut off day: Jul 3 at midnight
  • Group A: Tue | 5:30–6pm | max capacity 5
  • Group B: Thu | 5:30-6pm | max capacity 5
  • Fee: ¥8,400 per group
  • Registration is limited to one group per Member.
  • Members wishing to register for both group A and group B will have the option to be placed on a waiting list and be contacted after the sign-up cut-off day if space is available.

Ability to swim 25 meters freestyle with lateral breathing, 25 meters backstroke and 25 meters breaststroke with a well-formed frog kick.

Strengthen kicks, learn cycles, sets and other advanced drills. Increase speed and maintain body position in all strokes.

Program Requirements

  • Swimmers must wear goggles.
  • Female swimmers must wear swim caps (optional for male swimmers).
  • All swimmers are required to wear Swim Team swimsuits and swim caps (for sale at the Pool Office) during practices and at swim meets.
  • TAC Swim Team swim kit: swimsuit, swim cap and T-shirt.
  • Participants are required to attend a minimum number of sessions to remain in good standing.
  • Participants must follow instructions and conduct themselves responsibly at all times, both at the Club and while taking part in off-site events.
  • Participants training with the Swim Team should compete at swim meets for the TAC Swim Team.
  • Failure to abide by these standards may result in removal from the program; registration fees will not be refunded in such cases.
