Celebrate spring’s arrival with an evening of exceptional Tohoku sake paired with seasonal appetizers.
Hosted by Yuji Miyamori, president of Eisen sake brewery in the Bandai area of Fukushima, this tasting will feature a selection of award-winning sake, including two junmai daiginjo, the highest grade of sake, and Eisen’s tokubetsu junmai sake.
Miyamori says he thinks Members will enjoy the mild and smooth rice flavors of Eisen’s sake.
“Our sake is brewed using very soft and pure groundwater,” he says of the local Bandai water, which is listed in the top 100 “remarkable” water spots in Japan.
Each “course” of sake will be paired with a selection of canapés, including the likes of miso-marinated bigeye tuna, venison pinchos, crispy duck confit, mixed grain risotto and braised pork belly sliders.
With Tokyo's state of emergency no longer in effect, the Club is currently preparing to reopen select venues and services from June 1.
