Japanese Garden Walks: East Meets West

The best of both worlds come together in one garden.

What will I learn in this class?
On this enchanting evening stroll, take in the
Kyu-Furukawa Gardens and its combination of Japanese and Western motifs. Containing two grounds featuring a British mansion and rose garden and separate manicured Japanese greenery, this garden stands unique in Japan for its hybrid appeal.

What is the goal of this class?
Appreciate the techniques and designs of Japanese garden architecture while taking a break from the hustle and bustle of life in Tokyo.

Who teaches this class?
Kazuko Morio grew up in a house with a Japanese garden, where she learned tea ceremony from her grandmother and tended the grounds every day. Morio later developed her interest in gardens through study and her work as a certified national guide-interpreter.
