Sanyukai Charity Drive

Extend a helping hand to Tokyo’s homeless by donating household items at the Women’s Group annual charity drive for Sanyukai, a shelter for homeless men in the city.


Sanyukai has been providing housing, meals, clothing and medical services to homeless men in Tokyo since 1984.

Items accepted
New towels (no bath towels), new socks, detergent, soap, toothpaste, travel sets, plastic kitchen wrap, rice, seaweed, tea, canned food, condiments (soy sauce, miso, oils), umeboshi pickled plums, furikake dried seasoning for rice, unexpired emergency food, disposable hot packs

Items not accepted
Clothes (except new socks), footwear

  • 9–11:30am & 2–3:30pm
  • Items should be packed in plastic bags or boxes
  • Donation storage available: Nov 8–15 (Beate Sirota Gordon Classroom)
