Japanese Garden Walks: Mitake Valley Stone Garden

Discover the hidden gems of western Tokyo's Mitake Valley.


Explore the paintings of Kawai Gyokudo and a stone garden designed by landscape architect Ken Nakajima at the Gyokudo Museum.

 

The tour will continue with a stroll along a riverside trail to 300-year-old Ozawa Sake Brewery.

Growing up in a house with a Japanese garden where her grandmother taught tea ceremony, Kazuko enjoyed tending to the garden every day. She later developed her interest in gardens through study and her work as a certified national guide-interpreter.
