Update: Keeping Your Club Safe |
|
Dear Member,
With the number of Covid-19 virus cases in Japan continuing to grow, the Board of Governors has decided to introduce additional measures at the Club to safeguard the health of both Members and staff.
Large Club-organized events scheduled for March, such as First Friday, swim meets and Camp Discovery, will be cancelled. Please visit the Club website to check exactly which events or programs have been cancelled.
The Club has also ceased offering buffets, salad bars and the toast bar until further notice.
In addition, we have placed hand sanitizers at all Club entrances. Members and guests are requested to sanitize their hands before entering the facility.
With the Board and Club management continuing to closely monitor developments in the greater Tokyo area, you are reminded to refrain from visiting the Club for a period of 14 days if you have recently traveled to China or have been in contact with anyone who has recently returned from the country. You are also requested to ensure that any guests you accompany to the Club satisfy these conditions as well.
In the unfortunate event that you contract the virus, please notify the Club’s Management Office immediately.
The Club continues to coordinate its health and safety efforts with the Minato Public Health Center and the US Embassy.
While housekeeping staff are frequently sanitizing well-used facilities and surfaces, we encourage you to sanitize your hands when you arrive at the Club and to follow the precautions recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which are listed on the Keeping Your Club Safe webpage, along with regular updates.
Thank you for helping us keep our community safe and healthy.
Michael Alfant
